The CEC control feature helps your devices talk to each other using the TV or source device remote, like turning on/off together, adjusting volume, or changing inputs.
Sometimes they might not communicate well (often after updates), so you can fix it by turning off CEC, disconnecting HDMI cables, then reconnecting them, and turning CEC back on. Make sure all devices have the latest updates too, as these can often fix communication issues.
